England’s Fraher Architects were recently presented with that goal for a house located in west London. The homeowner also wanted to incorporate a bit of Asian influence in the remodel – which consisted of an addition to a rather uninspiring narrow brick house. The architects accomplished their task using glass – a narrow glass wall or panel that joins the old to the new; a glass ceiling to create an atrium effect, and a glass stair rail so the wooden stairs just seem to float up the wall.
