You don't have to hit a big pothole to fling up debris that will have you searching for windshield repair or windshield replacement in the Central Valley.
Helping to prove our theory that there’s a “day” for everything, yesterday (March 25) was World Pothole Day. Unlike many such “days” when the idea is to celebrate the honoree, we don’t think whoever thought of this meant to celebrate potholes. It’s probably more of a warning that roads can be in bad condition after a rough winter. That warning certainly seems to be a prime idea of the Car Care Council, which is cautioning drivers to make sure they get their cars checked out if they do hit a pothole because the things can do a lot of damage.
But one bit of possible damage the council missed in its warning is about windshields, side view mirrors and other glass car parts. That might be because when most people think of a pothole, they think of an actual hole that can flatten a tire, break an axle or knock your wheels out of alignment. But potholes are more inclusive. They can start as crumbly bits of asphalt in the roadway. And you know about those crumbly bits – they can fly up and ding, crack or break a windshield, window or mirror. And you don’t have to be the one to hit the pothole for that to happen. If the driver ahead of you is careless and hits one, the debris can fly back and hit your car. The next thing you know, you’re searching for windshield repair or windshield replacement.
When that happens, it’s time to call Don’s Mobile Glass. Don’s has been the windshield repair and replacement experts in the Central Valley for more than 55 years.
